The Ultimate Wedding Planning Checklist: From “Yes!” to “I Do”
You said yes. You celebrated, called your family, shared the exciting news—and then, somewhere between the champagne and the congratulations, you may have started wondering:
“Okay…what do we do now?”
Wedding planning can feel overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. With a little organization and a good timeline, you can take each step one at a time and enjoy the process along the way.
Our Superstition Manor planners have put together a wedding planning checklist to help you know what to tackle, when to tackle it, and what can wait until later. Save this list, share it with your fiancé, and check things off as you go!
Getting Started: The Big Decisions
Before you dive into the details, start with the foundation of your wedding day. These are the decisions that will guide everything else.
Create a Budget
Start by talking openly about what you want to spend and where you want your priorities to be. Establishing your budget early will help you make confident decisions throughout the planning process and keep those little extras from adding up unexpectedly.
Choose Your Date
Pick a wedding date that works for you, your families, and your overall vision. Keep in mind that popular dates and seasons can book quickly, so having a few options in mind can be helpful.
Prepare Your Guest List
Your guest count will influence your venue, catering, invitations, seating arrangements, and so much more. Start with a rough list and refine it as you move through the planning process.
Book Your Venue
Once you know your approximate guest count and have a date in mind, it’s time to find the place where your wedding day will come to life.
At Superstition Manor, our all-inclusive approach is designed to make planning easier by bringing so many of your wedding-day details together under one roof. From your ceremony and reception spaces to catering, decor, planning support, and more, our team is here to help you bring your vision together.

Decide on Your Theme and Colors
Now comes one of the most fun parts! Think about the feeling you want your wedding day to have. Romantic and elegant? Modern and classic? Desert-inspired and warm? Choose a color palette and overall style that feels like the two of you.
12 Months Before: Start Bringing the Vision Together
With your venue and date secured, it’s time to start building the team and details behind your day.
Choose Your Wedding Party
Ask the people who will stand beside you as you say “I do.” Give yourselves plenty of time to coordinate attire, schedules, showers, bachelor and bachelorette celebrations, and all the special moments leading up to your wedding.
Shop for Your Dress
Wedding dresses can take time to order, alter, and perfect. Start shopping early so you can find the dress you love without feeling rushed.
Take Engagement Photos
Celebrate this season of your relationship with an engagement session. These photos are also perfect for your wedding website, save-the-dates, and other wedding stationery.
Book Your Other Vendors
Begin securing the vendors who will help complete your wedding day. Depending on your plans, this may include photography, videography, entertainment, florals, transportation, and other specialty services.
Order Save-the-Dates
Once your date, venue, and guest list are coming together, send your save-the-dates so your loved ones can mark their calendars.
Create Your Wedding Website
Your wedding website can be the central hub for all your important information, including your date, venue, hotel accommodations, registry, schedule, and more.

10 Months Before: Start Filling in the Details
Now that the big pieces are in place, it’s time to focus on some of the details your guests—and your future selves—will appreciate.
Set Up Your Gift Registry
Choose the items, experiences, or contributions that will help you start this next chapter together.
Book Your Officiant
Whether you’re working with a religious leader, professional officiant, or someone special in your life, make sure your ceremony officiant is officially on your calendar.
Book Your Honeymoon
Give yourselves something wonderful to look forward to after the wedding! Book your honeymoon accommodations, transportation, and any special experiences you want to include.
Choose Groom Attire
Start shopping for the groom’s wedding-day look and make sure there is plenty of time for alterations.
Choose Bridal Party Attire
Select dresses, suits, or other attire for your wedding party and give everyone plenty of time to order and prepare.

6 Months Before: Let the Details Shine
Six months out is when your wedding starts to feel especially real. You’re moving from the big decisions into the details that make your day uniquely yours.
Plan Your Decor
Bring your colors, theme, and personality together through your decor. Think centerpieces, table settings, ceremony details, signage, and all the little touches that make your celebration feel like you.
Print Your Invitations
Finalize your invitation design, wording, and guest information so your invitations are ready to go.
Schedule Your Hair and Makeup Trial
This is your opportunity to try your wedding-day look, make adjustments, and make sure you feel confident and beautiful before the big day.

One of the best parts of wedding planning? Tasting the food! Work with your venue and catering team to select the menu that will make your guests excited to gather around the table.
Cake Tasting and Design
Choose your flavors, style, and finishing touches. Whether you envision a classic tiered cake, something modern and artistic, or a completely unique dessert, this is the time to make it yours.

2 Weeks Before: Double-Check Everything
Two weeks out, you’re in the final stretch. The goal now is to confirm—not create—your plans.

Use your confirmed guest list to create the final seating arrangement.
Print Place Cards
Once your seating chart is complete, print or prepare your place cards and organize them for the wedding day.
Pick Up All Attire
Make sure everyone has their wedding-day attire and that everything fits properly.

1 Week Before: Take a Deep Breath
You made it. The planning is nearly finished, and your wedding day is almost here.
Get a Mani/Pedi
Take some time to relax, pamper yourself, and enjoy a little pre-wedding self-care.
Fill Tip Envelopes
Prepare any tips or gratuities ahead of time so you aren’t worrying about them on your wedding day.
Attend Your Rehearsal and Dinner
Walk through the ceremony, make sure everyone knows their roles, and then enjoy a meal together before the celebration begins.
Make a Wedding Party Schedule
Give your wedding party a clear schedule so everyone knows where they need to be and when.
Take a Deep Breath!
Seriously.
At this point, you have done the planning. You have made the decisions. You have organized the details.
Now it’s time to let your planning team take it from here and enjoy your wedding day.
Your Wedding Day Is About More Than the Checklist
A checklist is an incredible tool, but your wedding day isn’t about how perfectly you checked every box. It’s about the moment you see each other for the first time. It’s about walking down the aisle toward the person you love. It’s about the people who traveled near and far to celebrate with you, the laughter around your tables, the music on the dance floor, and the memories you’ll carry with you long after the last song plays.
That’s why having a planning team you can trust makes such a difference.
At Superstition Manor, our planners are here to help you navigate the details, organize the logistics, and bring your wedding-day vision together. Our goal is simple: to help you spend less time worrying about what comes next and more time enjoying the moments that matter most.
So check the boxes, make the lists, choose the details that feel like you—and when the big day arrives, take a deep breath, look around, and soak it all in.
You’re getting married. And that’s the best item on the checklist.
